Scott Cullins hails from Los Angeles, California and currently resides in Holladay, Utah—part of the Great Salt Lake Region in Utah. Prior to moving to Utah, Scott spend a dozen years living in Idaho—primarily in Teton Valley.
Scott is an experienced media and marketing communications professional and currently provides freelance media & marketing creative services to a range of clients. Scott also publishes web and print products that align with his passions of music and mountain biking. More examples of Scott’s recent work check out his Work page.
Scott loves the mountain lifestyle and urban/suburban mix of amenities that Greater Salt Lake City offers. There aren’t many places where you can you ski powder or shred singletrack in the morning, work on client projects in the afternoon, then play a gig in the evening. Northern Utah is a rare gem.
Marketing & Media
For media and marketing clientele, Scott provides design, content creation (e.g., writing, photography, video, etc.), business development and other services. Check out his work page for a few examples.
Under the banner of Canyon Media, Scott publishes web and print products that align with his passions, like wastachrider and the Teton Valley Outdoor Guide & Map.
Scott’s credentials include a few noteworthy positions including: art director for Bon Appétit magazine in Los Angeles; creative director for Salt Lake magazine in Utah; and Design Director for Health Net’s in-house marketing agency.
Music & Songwriting
Scott has been writing music, singing and playing guitar for many years. Prior to leaving Los Angeles, Scott ditched the band life and became active in the acoustic music scene—playing small clubs and coffee shops on the Sunset Strip and other active spots.
With his move to the Teton Mountains, Scott put his guitar down for a few years and focused on raising his kids and playing in the mountains. However, with his his move back to the city, Scott’s passion for music was reignited. He began writing again and soon found himself performing again.
Mountain Sports
Scott has been exploring mountains on singletrack since before suspension was a thing. He claims to have ridden every trail in the Santa Monica Mountains on his old hardtail. After years exploring every trail in the Teton Mountains, Scott moved to Park City and adopted the goal of riding every trail in the Wasatch mountains. He has his work cut out for him.
Skiing is also a passion but, with his move from Park City to the Wasatch Front, traffic and crowds have dulled his desire for lift-served skiing. Scott is no backcountry maven, but hiking on his skis offers the solitude that has always lured him to the mountains.
